Microsoft is putting the finishing touches to its massive Xbox launch event on Sunday  -and may have hidden the details of it in plain sight.

The firm has released a teaser trailer for its new Xbox Scorpio console, which it will unveil in Los Angeles ahead of the E3 computer games show in a Sunday event.

The event is expected to unveil the console – and now, thanks to messages in the latest video, it appears Microsoft is planning to launch it on October 13th.

Microsoft recently started posting E3 teaser videos for its Project Scorpio unveiling, and Twitter users soon found the hidden messages.

One particular teaser includes a ‘6>4’ hidden next to a Ferris wheel, referencing the 6 teraflops of power in the Xbox Project Scorpio console compared to Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro, which boasts 4 teraflops of power.

In another teaser posted a cryptic ‘X10S101-317’ is displayed on a stage with a crowd of people.

Microsoft typically uses this type of date format for its Windows and Xbox software builds, so if X10S refer to the console, then the remaining 101317 could mean October 13th, some fans claims.

Microsoft is planning to unveil its Project Scorpio console this Sunday at 2PM PT / 5PM ET.

Codenamed Project Scropio, the newly announced system will aim to deliver true 4K Ultra HD gaming with what Microsoft claims will be the ‘most powerful games console ever built’.

Phil Spencer, head of XBox at Microsoft, said at E3 last year Project Scorpio would continue to be compatible with all previous Xbox games and accessories, but would bridge the gap between virtual reality gaming and true high definition consoles.

Although details were thin, a video shown at the press conference at E3 featured a number of games developers talking about what the new console may make possible.
